Join the UPCC Board

The University Park Community Council is always looking for new members to help make a difference in our community. All our events and committees depend on dedicated residents and that means WE NEED YOU! Email if you are interested in getting involved or are interested in filling one of our open committee chair positions (see below).

Open Committee Chair Positions

Vice President

Duties: The vice president functions as president when needed and is actively engaged with the UPCC board. If appropriate, the vice president will be a nominee for president when that officer’s term expires.

Estimated time: Monthly UPCC board meetings, on-call when president is absent.

Mobility Chair

Duties: The Mobility Chair keeps abreast of traffic, pedestrian, bicycle and transportation issues, and advocates for improvements on behalf of University Park residents. This committee chair works with the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Agency (DOTI), area businesses, and area schools.

Estimated time: Monthly UPCC meetings, initial time to become familiar with issues, one or more hour per week to keep abreast of issues.

Zoning Chair

Duties: The Zoning Chair keeps abreast of local and city land use and zoning issues and makes recommendations on rezoning applications and zoning variances in University Park. This committee chair interacts with the Denver Community, Planning and Development Agency (CPD), builders, and individual residents.

Estimated time: monthly UPCC meetings, initial time to become familiar with issues, time required when rezoning or variance issues arise.

INC (InterNeighborhood Cooperation)

This organization is comprised of Registered Neighborhood Organizations (RNOs) throughout Denver. INC provides information on citywide concerns by bringing in city staff and stakeholders involved with various issues, and advocates on behalf of residents. It is recommended that Committee Chairs attend INC meetings which pertain to their committee as time allows. Click here to learn more about INC committees.

We are focused on getting the community together to share information and promote a strong network of neighbors! There are a variety of ways you can support and get involved with the UPCC, we would love to meet you!

  • Volunteer to help or sponsor events: email
  • Donate to the UPCC
  • Join or Start a Group: Do you have a desire to connect with an existing group or to start a group to discuss books or
    movies, or to reinvigorate the young mothers’ group or start a men’s group? Let us know your interests and ideas and we’ll
    help connect you and get the word out to the community.
  • Host a Block Party: Denver has a relatively simple process for hosting a block party. It’s a great way to meet your
    neighbors and connect over the summer. Learn more here.
